Brigid – or Brigit, Brighid, Bride: Irish goddess of the Sacred Flame. Brigid is a threefold goddess, each one her faces representing her dominion over poetry, healing, and smithcraft. Called the Great Goddess, she is keeper of the holy wells and rivers of healing and rebirth, as well as the sacred flames of creativity and inspiration. Her festival Imbolc is celebrated on February 1st or 2nd, when sacred bonfires are kept burning all evening long to call forth the sun from hiding. Brigid is the mother of inventions and craftsmanship, the wise woman of healing, as well as the patroness of poets and priestesses. As Christian thought invaded the ancient world, the goddess Brigid was morphed into Saint Brigid of Kildare.

Witch Goddess of Greece.  Hecate, or Hekate, is the Crone aspect of the Triple Goddess, forming the triad with Persephone and Demeter; She also appears as having three faces unto Herself.  She has power over heaven, earth and the Underworld, and is often referred to as the Queen of Ghosts.  As the guardian of the spiritworld, She protects ghosts from harm and from causing mischief.  Originally a goddess of the wilderness and childbirth, Hecate is most often associated with the crossroads, a place of spiritual wisdom and dark intuitive magick. The ultimate sorceress and diviner, Hecate teaches Her followers the path of the witch, and guides the seeker to the depths of the unconscious mind.

Sunstone honors the God, and calls in the energy of nature. It is a protective stone, blocking negative energy from those who wish you harm. The stone’s power brings a gentle and understanding  light to dark emotions, whether those harmful feelings come from you or from those around you. Sunstone is used to call in happiness and optimism, and in elixir form it is used to treat depression.
