Becoming a Reiki Practitioner

The Reiki system of energy healing is simple to learn and easy to practice because the proce is not taught, but transferred. The process of transferring this energy is called a Reiki attunement, or initiation. By working with ancient energy, sacred symbols, and  mantras, a Reiki Master will open the energy-flowing channels in the student. Once the initiate has received the attunements, they are connected to the source of the Reiki energy for life. The beauty of this system is that even if the student does not use this gift on a regular basis, it is always there to be re-accessed whenever the initiate chooses.

Reiki is taught in three levels, or Degrees. Each level initiation takes around three hours to complete, including instruction time. There is a 21 day cleansing process required before the student may move on to the next level.

REIKI LEVEL I : Level I generally includes the Reiki Principles, Reiki History, a simple meditation technique & four Reiki attunements. The first level of training is an initiation into Reiki: it’s uses, hand positions & healing patterns. The student’s channels of energy are opened so that he or she may learn the techniques & uses of Reiki, allowing the employment of Reiki for personal benefit & helping others.

REIKI LEVEL II : Second Degree teaches the first three Reiki symbols, distance healing, chakra work, and client etiquette. The student will be attuned with the symbols (which increases healing abilities) and instructed on their mantras and method of application.

REIKI LEVEL III : (Level 3 is split into two separate parts, referred to as 3A and 3B,as some students choose to have the attunement, but not the teacher training; ) The Third Degree teaches the remaining Reiki symbols, healing techniques, and practical uses of Reiki.   Attunements at this level are accompanied by a greater degree of power, as the flow of Reiki energy is increased to its maximum capacity. With the completion of Level 3A, the student is now a Reiki Master.

LEVEL 3B is Teacher Training. Here, the student is shown how to initiate others into Reiki It is a step-by step- process that teaches the student the correct procedures for attunements. Upon completion of this training, the student is now a Reiki Master Teacher.
